Day 2 : New Delhi – Corbett (275 Kms, 5- hour drive)

Early breakfast and then drive to Corbett National Park 275 kms/ 5 hrs. drive. At the park gate change into the safari vehicle. Take out your camera equipment and be prepared to meet some denizens of the forest. Check into the forest rest house.

This forest rest house was made about 100 years old by Britishers, when they managed the forests. Their rangers needed some place to relax after day full of patrolling. These Forest rest houses are unique to Corbett National Park. It is only in Corbett that you get an opportunity to stay inside the national park. The complex is located on the banks of Ramganga river and overlooks the foothills of Himalayas. Post lunch proceed for an afternoon safari in the most scenic national park of India. Only vegetarian food is served here so that predators do not get attracted towards the campus with the smell of non-vegetarian food. Alcohol is not permitted here.

Day 3 : Corbett National Park

Begin your morning jeep safari at sunrise. Corbett has aptly been described as the land of the Roar, Trumpet and Song. It represents a scene of remarkable beauty. Corbett had the proud distinction of being the chosen venue for the inauguration of Project Tiger in India.

The rich biodiversity of the Reserve is partly attributed to the variety of habitat found here. Due to the location of the Reserve in the foothills of the central Himalayas, both Himalayan and peninsular flora and fauna is found in the Reserve. After lunch depart for afternoon jeep safari to the national park. All meals and overnight at forest rest house.

Day 4 : Corbett National Park

Morning and afternoon jeep safaris, meals and overnight at Forest rest house. India’s first and finest park spread over 520 sq. kms. Established initially as Hailey National Park on August 8, 1936, in honor of Sir Malcolm Hailey, then governor of the United Provinces, the name was changed to Ramganga National Park in 1952.

In 1957, it was finally named as Corbett National Park in honor and memory of the late Jim Corbett, the legendary hunter, naturalist-turned-author and photographer who had helped in setting up the park and demarcating its boundaries.

Day 5 : Corbett – Agra (by surface – 310 Kms, 7-hour drive)

After your early morning jeep safari and breakfast, drive to Agra. Upon arrival in Agra, check-in at your hotel. Evening at your leisure and overnight at your hotel in Agra.

Day 6 : Agra – Bharatpur (210 kms, 5-hour drive)

Early morning before sunrise: Your proud visit to the city of one of the seven wonders of the world, The Taj Mahal. Agra is a pleasant town well known for its jaw dropping inlay work on marbles and soapstone by skilled artisans and many generations’ craftsmen. The city is also famous for its gold thread, silver wholesale market, carpets and leather shoes.

Completed in 1652, skilled craftsmen from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy and some 20,000 labourers worked for 17 years to build this edifice. Later proceed to visit the red sandstone AGRA FORT which stands like a crescent on the banks of Yamuna River enclosed by forbidding 20-meter high walls, with a 12- meter moat between them. Three successive Mughal emperors – Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jehan – helped create this massive structure which contains Hindu and Muslim architecture. [The Taj is closed on Friday].

After lunch depart for every birdwatcher’s paradise Bharatpur bird sanctuary also known as Keoladeo National Park. Keoladeo Ghana National Park, commonly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a home to more than 400 species of water birds. The park is one of the finest and is an ideal habitat for the birds. The lightly wooden and swampy terrain is widely spread over 29 sq. kms. This bird sanctuary was once a private shooting and hunting preserve for the Royal Family, Maharaja of Bharatpur. Ranthambhore is a very special and unusual area where a natural present meets a historical past. Sambar, cheetal, chinkara, nilgai and languor. The elusive leopard and tigers are found in this reserve with tourists standing a very good chance of seeing tigers during the safaris. Dotted across the landscape are the crumbling ruins of its past glory, be it chatris or cupolas, like palaces or old guard posts, all of which reinforce the magical and ethereal quality of this great wilderness.
